Mental health benefits of painting!
Did you know painting can be a great tool for improving for your mental health?
...
When you give yourself time to step away from your busy everyday work tasks and create something beautiful through painting it stimulates your creative mind, which relieves mental strain. It is so important to ensure you prioritise your down time, as a low stress level can lead to a happier and healthier lifestyle - which improves your overall mental health.

Painting doesn't have to be perfect. The beauty of art is that you can benefit from the act of creating it as well as admiring what you have created. Studies have shown that self expression through art can help people with anxiety, depression and stress. Some people say that painting can stress them out when they feel they have 'messed it up', but once we take away the importance of creating a 'perfect painting' and just allow our minds to focus on and experiment with colours and textures, you will find yourself enjoying the process much more. There is no need to be so precious when creating a piece of art, and I believe your best pieces of work are created with an open mind.

In todays world we can sometimes feel as though we're expected to monetise every aspect of our lives, and capitalise from everything we can. But it is important to have hobbies that we don't benefit from financially, and these are often the hobbies that give us the biggest sense of fulfilment and purpose. The act of doing something simply because we enjoy it!
