My Dream Commission

You may know plants are one of my biggest inspirations for my artwork, I love visiting garden centres, botanical gardens and just being out in nature (not to mention my slight addiction to buying and propagating house plants)! I just love them studying their leaves and watching them grow.

 Back in November I was contacted by The BBC asking if I would be interested in creating a painting video featuring one of the incredible plants discovered in the new upcoming David Attenborough series - The Green Planet! For a moment I sat back in my chair in disbelief just staring at my computer screen. This is truly my dream commission and I can't even being to explain how excited and slightly overwhelmed I was. I read the email to Callum over and over again before composing myself and trying to respond in a calm and professional manner. I was asked to paint the Rafflesia arnoldii, also known as the corpse flower.
